Privacy Policy

MilkyWish ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using MilkyWish you agree to this policy.

Location Data MilkyWish requests access to your device location ("While Using the App") to generate your personalised star sky and attach approximate GPS coordinates to stars you publish. We do not track your location in the background. Anonymous Account Identifier Firebase Authentication automatically assigns you a random anonymous user ID (UID) with no connection to your name, email, or Apple ID. It is used solely to associate your published stars with you. Star Content When you publish a star you provide a star name, wish message, drawing strokes, and GPS coordinates. This content is stored in Google Cloud Firestore and is publicly visible to all MilkyWish users until it expires. Device Cache Recently loaded stars are cached in local device storage (UserDefaults) for offline use only.

We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or Apple ID. We do not collect location history, device advertising identifiers, payment information, biometric data, or any data from your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.

We use information only to display your personalised star sky, show published stars on the Wish Map, automatically remove expired stars, and provide offline caching. We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.

Google Firebase — processes anonymous authentication and stores star data on Google Cloud servers. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy. Apple CoreLocation — handles location on-device. Apple's privacy policy applies at the OS level. Neither Google nor Apple receives your content for advertising purposes.

Stars are automatically deleted when they reach their chosen expiry date (1 day to 1 year). Your anonymous Firebase UID persists until you delete the app. Deleting the app removes your local cache but published stars remain until they expire. MilkyWish is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us at mykytaiosdeveloper@gmail.com if you believe a child has submitted content.

You may have rights to know what data we hold, request deletion, or opt out of location data collection by denying location permission in iOS Settings. To exercise these rights contact: mykytaiosdeveloper@gmail.com

Firebase security rules restrict database access so star data is readable by all authenticated users and writable only by the author's UID. We do not store passwords or sensitive personal data.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the date at the top of this document. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
